RUSSIAN-AMERICAN MARKET NEWS New Year’s Celebration is a Family Holiday for Russian-Americans January 4, 2005 – New York, NY – For the Russian-speaking Americans the New Year’s Celebration is the most important holiday of the year, a time to exchange gifts and wishes. A recent Press Release Group poll shows that for a majority of Russian-speaking New Yorkers, celebration of the New Year is a family holiday. When asked, where they will most likely celebrate the New Year, 51% of respondents indicated that they are most likely to be at home, as hosts or guests, with their families. 22% of the Russian-speakers will try to get out of New York for the holidays while 27% will try to go out to a restaurant or club on December 31, 2005.
